Sean McVay Returns To His Atlanta Roots

Sean McVay East Cobb youth and Marist SchoolRams wunderkind head coach Sean McVay is 100 percent associated with the city of Los Angeles these days, after the now 33-year-old's arrival in Southern California, back in 2017. But, with McVay and the Rams in Atlanta for Sunday’s Super Bowl LIII, it bears reminding that the NFC champion coach’s football pedigree is very much centered in the largest city in the state of Georgia.

McVay was born in Dayton, Ohio, back in the bygone days of 1986 (this guy is so young.) After spending a period of time in Pittsburgh, the McVay family made their way to Atlanta, setting up shop in the unincorporated suburban Atlanta community of East Cobb.

East Cobb sits 11 miles north of the JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead (Rams Super Bowl hotel) and 17 miles north of Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Super Bowl venue).

During his high school days, McVay starred at the Marist School, located in the Atlanta suburb of Brookhaven, five miles north of the JW and 12 miles north of the Falcons home stadium.

While at Marist, the future offensive genius was both a state champion QB and Georgia offensive player of the year.
