Super Bowl XLVIII Team, Media, NFL & Fan Bases Of Operation

Broncos Hyatt Regency Jersey City, Seahawks Westin Jersey CityFor the first time ever, America's biggest sporting event is being held in America's biggest metropolitan area, as Super Bowl XLVIII descends upon New Jersey and New York, for what will be the very first outdoor, cold weather Big Game. The logistics of this year's event are particularly complex because while the game and teams will be based in New Jersey, the vast majority of media and fan activities will be situated across the Hudson River in Manhattan. In addition to the preparation efforts of the Seahawks and Broncos, much of this week's media coverage will focus on the ongoing threat of inclement weather, as well as the spread-out nature of the festivities.

Below is a look at the New Jersey-New York layout of operations.

Four-year-old MetLife Stadium is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, eight miles west of Manhattan, at the intersection of Route 3 and the New Jersey Turnpike. All told, the Meadowlands Sports Complex has been the home of the New York Giants since 1976 and the New York Jets since 1984.

The NFC champs are basing themselves out of The Westin Jersey City Newport, located at 479 Washington Blvd., just across the Hudson from Lower Manhattan.

Russell Wilson and company will conduct workouts at the Giants' practice facility, which sits adjacent to MetLife Stadium. The Quest Diagnostics Training Center is a nine-mile trek from Jersey City.

Like their NFC counterparts, the AFC champion Broncos are also getting their rest in Jersey City, housing at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City On The Hudson, at 2 Exchange Place.

Peyton Manning and crew are prepping at the Jets' practice facility in Florham Park, New Jersey. The Atlantic Health Jets Training Center stands 27 miles west of Jersey City.

Media Headquarters

Both media work areas and radio row are taking place at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, located at 7th Ave. and 52nd St. in Manhattan.

*Media day festivities are scheduled for Tuesday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

NFL Hospitality Headquarter Hotel

Pro football's corporate partners will be wined and dined at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

*Usually, the NFL sets up temporary offices in the host Super Bowl city. With league headquarters already located at 345 Park Ave (Midtown Manhattan), Roger Goodell and his staff will not have to create a makeshift office.

Super Bowl Boulevard

In past years, the NFL Experience has been the indoor interactive event where fans can meet current and former players, view memorabilia and immerse themselves in all things NFL. This time around, New York is conducting the always well attended affair outdoors, on Broadway, between 47th and 34th Streets. In addition to the normal array of fan entertainment opportunities, Super Bowl Boulevard Engineered By GMC will house a 60-foot toboggan run, while also being the site of multiple concerts and food concessions. The gala runs from Wednesday through Saturday.
