Trey Burke Autograph Appearance (Video)
After years of performing well below expectation, the Michigan Wolverines have once again emerged as one of the preeminent programs in all of college basketball.
Without question, one of the singular reasons for this rebirth of a once great program is the two years that guard Trey Burke spent in Ann Arbor. From 2011 through 2013, the former Ohio Mr. Basketball award winner averaged 16.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. During the '12-'13 campaign, Burke capped off his college career by leading Michigan all the way to the national championship game, earning multiple player of the year awards, along the way.
After being selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the ninth pick in the 2013 draft, the Columbus, Ohio native was immediately traded to the Utah Jazz. During his rookie season in Salt Lake City, Burke averaged 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.7 assists per contest, culminating in his selection to the NBA All-Rookie first team.
Last weekend, the 21-year-old Burke made an appearance at DetroitCitySports, located at the Lakeside Mall, in the Detroit suburb of Sterling Heights, Michigan. Burke signed autographs, shook hands and even posed for photos with the long line of folks interested in meeting him.
