Viking Legends Marshall, Doleman and Eller At Autograph Event (Video)

Here is original video of old-time Vikings defensive end Jim Marshall signing autographs, during an event at Valley West Mall, in the Twin Cities suburb of Bloomington, Minnesota. The gathering was put together by Crave Sports Company.

Though not signing at the time of this clip, 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Chris Doleman is seated next to Marshall, with Marshall’s former Viking teammate/2004 hall of fame inductee Carl Eller appearing later in the video.

Marshall played in the NFL from 1960-1979, with all but one of those seasons occurring in Minnesota. The Kentucky native was best known for being part of the Vikings famous “Purple People Eaters” defense of the late 1960's and most of the 1970's. Marshall's play helped the team to four Super Bowl appearances between 1969-1976, which all unfortunately resulted in losses.

The four-time Pro Bowl player previously held the iron-man record for most consecutive games played by a non-kicker (282). Marshall’s streak was passed by the NFL's all-time iron-man, Brett Favre, when he ironically was playing for the Vikings.

Favre wound up playing in 297 straight regular season contests (321 including the postseason).
