Dustin Penner Comes Back From Pancake Injury To Win Cup

Dustin Penner pancake injuryMonday night, Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Penner won his second career Stanley Cup (won with Ducks in 2007), when LA defeated the New Jersey Devils in six games.

While Penner and his teammates are basking in championship glory, it's interesting to look back at what may have been the most noteworthy occurrence of LA's rather uninspiring regular season.

By the way, the significant event we speak of had nothing to do with hockey.

Back in January, the burly left winger injured his back, while sitting down to eat some of his wife's pancakes, in what was supposed to be the friendly surroundings of his home.

“I just leaned over to dip into some delicious pancakes that my wife made. It's just like it (back pain) wraps around you and squeezes,” said Penner.

The 6-5, 245 pound tough guy was forced to sit out a game.

As a result of Penner's "miraculous" recovery, can a Bisquick endorsement deal be far behind at this point?
