Hockey Greats Playing Ball For Charity (Video)
Recently, former Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers great Joe Kocur hosted the 6th Annual Charity Softball Series, on behalf of the Joe Kocur Foundation For Children. The event was held at Duck Lake Pines Community Park, in the Detroit suburb of Highland Township, 44 miles northwest of Joe Louis Arena. Kocur, a three-time Stanley Cup champion ('94 – NYR, '97 & '98 – DET), was accompanied by many retired NHL players, ranging from former Red Wing teammates, to even some all-time greats.
iFolloSports.com Michigan correspondent Lance Martinez was on the scene, conducting interviews and providing footage of the festivities, courtesy of the above piece of original video.
In addition to speaking with Kocur, Lance also spoke with Darren McCarty, Dino Ciccarelli, Ted Lindsay, Kirk Maltby and Kris Draper, with all of the men expressing their love and respect for Kocur.
The video concludes with a rather impressive “Ice Bucket Challenge,” undertaken by many of those in attendance.
