Jonathan Quick Signing On Cup Off Day (Video)

Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick's star continues to rise by the day. Coming of a 2012 postseason, in which he led LA to its first-ever Stanley Cup Final victory (awarded Conn Smythe Trophy), the 28-year-old Connecticut native now finds himself a mere three games away from what could be yet another NHL championship. While his GAA is more than one goal higher, as compared to two years ago, Quick's repeated 7th game and overtime brilliance has been instrumental in his Kings quest for a second hoisting of the Cup.

Win or lose, there is little doubt that Quick will be spending his winters in Los Angeles, for many years to come. In the summer that followed the '12 title, Quick and the Kings agreed to a 10-year/$58 million contract. One cannot really fathom a scenario where the LA front office could be anything less than thrilled regarding the team's return on its rather handsome investment.

Friday, after the Kings had completed a morning practice at the Toyota Sports Center (club's El Segundo (CA) training facility), Quick was seen signing autographs and posing for photos with a group of very excited LA hockey fans.
