Kings & Rangers Have Played A lot Of Hockey Of Late
Wednesday night, the 2014 Stanley Cup Final gets underway, as the Los Angeles Kings host the New York Rangers. The Kings are back in the Final for the second time in three years, while the Rangers return for the first time since their famous 1994 championship run. The Kings are coming off a dramatic 7th game overtime victory over the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks, while the Rangers defeated the Montreal Canadiens in six.
LA and New York split their two meetings this season. However, the Kings come in as the favorites, per the Las Vegas oddsmakers.
LA enters the Final more fatigued, after playing three consecutive seven-game series and two recent overtime games versus Chicago. The Rangers played only one less postseason contest, but come into Wednesday better rested, because their conference final series only went six. New York enters amid five full days of rest, with LA dealing with just two full days of a breather.
