Here is an iFolloSports.com original photo of Red Wings left wing Justin Abdelkader signing autographs, while seated in the driver’s seat of his SUV. This picture was gathered by Michigan based iFolloSports.com correspondent Lance Martinez, while Abdelkader and his teammates were departing Joe Louis Arena for the last time this season, amid their 4-1 first round playoff loss to Tampa Bay.

Next season will mark the Red Wings 38th and final season at their legendary home arena. In the fall of 2017, the franchise will open the brand new Little Caesars Arena, 1.5 miles to the north, in midtown Detroit.

Abdelkader, a Michigan native and Michigan State alum, just wrapped up his seventh NHL season. The 29-year-old has posted 80 career goals and 95 assists, since joining the Wings during the 2009-2010 campaign.
