Justin Morneau Signing For A Good Cause (Video)

Minnesota Twins first baseman/designated hitter Justin Morneau will enter his eleventh MLB season, come spring training. Initially, Morneau put together nothing less than a superstar career in Minnesota. From 2006-2009, he posted at least 100 RBI in each season, while making four All-Star appearances and winning the 2006 American League MVP.

Unfortunately for Morneau and the Twins, the last 3.5 years have been very injury plagued, as the big lefty slugger has suffered a multitude of injuries, including a concussion, as well as back and wrist ailments. As a result, the former star's stats and playing time have severely diminished.

Despite all of his injuries, Morneau, along with catcher Joe Mauer, are easily the most popular Twins players of this generation. The British Columbia native is also known to be very fan friendly and community oriented. Morneau and his wife started the Justin Morneau Foundation, which helps support underprivileged communities.

Tuesday morning, per the above iFolloSports.com original video, Morneau signed autographs for a large group of Twins followers. This was part of a Twins sponsored coat drive, held at the Brooklyn Park Armory, in the Twin Cities suburb of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The event's purpose involved the donation of winter coats for disabled veterans and their families, during the holiday season.

Tuesday's autograph session was part of the monthlong Justin Morneau Winter Warm-Up Coat Drive.
