The First European NFL Draft Pick Signing (Video)

Saturday, iFolloSports.com captured this original video of Vikings rookie receiver Moritz Boehringer signing autographs at Fan HQ Sports Apparel and Collectables, in the Twin Cities suburb of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Normally, very few players drafted in the 6th round (180th overall) get much exposure, but Boehringer is from Germany, which makes him the first ever European born player selected, who did not play college football. As a result, Boehringer was one of the bigger stories from April’s draft.

The Stuttgart native spent the past few seasons playing in multiple German football leagues. The 22-year-old grew up focusing on soccer, before he found a YouTube video of Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson, which then inspired him to play football. Because Minnesota would go on to become Boehringer’s favorite team, it was definitely a special moment to be selected by the NFC North franchise.
