Highlights From The Raptors Victory Parade | Videos
Monday, an estimated 1.5 million revelers attended the NBA champion Toronto Raptors tickertape parade, which originated at Exhibition Place (west of downtown near the Raptors practice facility) and concluded at Nathan Phillips Square (found in the heart of downtown Toronto seven blocks from Scotiabank Arena).
Sadly, the gathering was marred by shootings that injured four attendees. Fortunately, three people have been arrested for their part in the incidents.
Police and security personnel also dealt with issues of overcrowding and public drunkenness, an occurrence that takes place in virtually every championship parade throughout the world.
Below is a look at the players’ view of the mass of Canadian humanity, as the double-decker buses advanced through the 4 km (2.5-mile) parade route.
The second clip showcases finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and longtime Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry entertaining fans from the stage at Nathan Phillips Square.
