China To Edge USA In Total Medals At London Olympics?

China will edge the USA 92-89 in total medals in London claims InfostradaChina will best the USA 92-89 in total medals at the upcoming London Olympics, although the US will win the most gold medals with 42, compared to 35 for China.  This according to the Italian sports statistical group Infostrada, who made their predictions with less than two months to go before Opening Ceremonies. 

In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, China won 51 gold medals, with the USA coming in second with 36.

When factoring in total medals, the Americans have topped the medal table during the past four summer Olympics. 

Infostrada has Russia third with 81 medals, followed by host Great Britain (59) and Germany (56). 

The rest of the top ten countries are touted to be Australia (40), Italy (35), Japan and France (33) and Korea (27). 

2016 host Brazil is tipped for 14th with 18 medals.

Surprisingly, Jamaica and Cuba are well down the virtual standings, in a tie for 23rd place, with only four golds and 13 total medals each.
