British Youth Not Looking Forward To Upcoming Olympics?

2012 Olympic Games and archeryYou might have thought that British teenagers would most like to compete in swimming or maybe even track and field in the Olympics, but according to a national survey by Axe Ambitions, archery at 27% easily topped the list with swimming (16%) and track (15%) trailing.  Next came badminton and soccer (14%), with shooting and basketball (12%).

The survey also revealed that British youth are not enthused about the 2012 Olympic Games. Only half said they were interested in the Games and 70 percent of those surveyed said they will not be motivated to participate in more sports because of the Olympics being held in London.

The British Olympic Association said in a statement that the results were "troubling."
