A New Whirled Record Set In Thailand

4500 hula hoopers set world record in ThailandA large group of nearly 4,500 Thai dancers twirled their hula hoops for seven consecutive minutes, setting a new world record, according to Guinness.

Officially 4,483 “hoopers” nearly doubled the previous world record of 2,496 participants. The old mark was established during two straight minutes in Taiwan, back in 2011.

The fastest 10-kilometer run (while hooping) is 65 minutes and 9 seconds, set by England's Sasha Kenney in 2012.

The hula hoop marathon record is 74 hours and 54 minutes, set by Aaron Hibbs of the US, from October 22-25 2009.
