Croatian Soccer Fans Hit Paris Just To Wreak Some Havoc
28 soccer hooligans were arrested, late Monday night, after brawling near the Place de la Bastille in Paris. Fans of Paris Saint-Germain and Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb clashed on the night before the match, won by PSG 4-0.
The Croatian fans had not been allowed to buy tickets to the Tuesday night match and were banned from even entering France, after a tip by Croatian authorities. Croatian police had informed their French counterparts that more than 200 members of the notorious Blue Bad Boys gang would be traveling to the country, without game tickets.
Despite fears of potential hooliganism, the group was still able to make their way to the French capital.
On Tuesday, French police arrested an additional 80 Dinamo fans at their hotel, due to threats of further violence.
PSG's easy victory enabled the squad to advance to the "Sweet 16" of the Champions League, while the shutout eliminated Zagreb.
